  • What fabric mills do you use?
We offer over 5,000 fabrics from our Andre Julius Exclusive mills, which are located across the world. You will work with your clothiers to determine which fabric is best for you.
  • What does a virtual appointment entail?
We set up a time at your convenience to meet virtually. At that meeting we will start to design the perfect attire for you. We can review your existing wardrobe at this time as well to discuss how to maximize what you already have and still rework your style.
  • Do you ever work with people not located in Virginia?
Absolutely! While our main servicing locations are the Hampton Roads, Richmond, and Northern Virginia areas we are able to travel anywhere. Fill out our travel inquiry form to schedule an appointment in your city.
  • Do I have to buy a whole suit?
No, you can buy any part on its own, perhaps to coordinate with an existing item you already own. You can order trousers, waistcoats, overcoats or jackets by themselves, or as part of a suit. Contact Us or Book an appointment and let's talk through all the options available.
  • How are payments conducted?
All custom garments requires a 50% deposit down to begin the design process. The final balance is due at the time of your final fitting. Deposits are non-refundable. Garments $500.00 & under must be paid in full prior to production.
  • What is the difference between Bespoke and Made-To-Measure?
Bespoke in tailoring means the garments are designed from a bare canvas using the measurements taken individually from clients. The measurements are then used to cut out the pattern. This cut out pattern is then laid to cut the fabric chosen by the client. Made-to-measure means the garments are made from a standard pattern that is then altered to suit the client.

  • How long does the entire process take from start to finish?
Appointment, Consultation, and Design: To be sure that we take enough measurements to make the suit or dress perfect for you, the first appointment takes around an hour. We’ll take your 30+ measurements, go over your specific fit requests, and then help you design your garment(s). We will also discuss your dream design ideas which will then be transformed into a sketched illustration. Getting the garment: Because each garment is made specifically for you, ordering custom clothing is not an overnight process. Our turnaround time for your garment(s) to be made is about 2 months, with some slight variation depending on the season. In select situations, it may be possible to further expedite your order for an additional fee. For events and occasions, please be sure to place your order 3-4 months in advance, as delivery timelines may fluctuate throughout the year. Final fitting: Once your garment is complete, we’ll schedule the final fitting so that you have the opportunity to try everything on to ensure perfect results.
  • Are children allowed at appointments?
Unless the children are being fitted for custom garments, we have a no children policy.
  • What is the design process?
Book an appointment- During this time you will have a one-on-one consultation with our team to discuss design, fabric options, and obtain measurements. For dresses and gowns a sketched illustration will be completed as well. For dresses and gowns pricing quotes will be determined once design and fabric is finalized. • Can I reschedule an appointment?
We kindly ask that you contact us at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule your appointment, if feasible. Under 24 hours notice, an additional $50.00 fee will be added to your order prior to our rescheduled meeting.
  • Do I need an appointment?
Yes! Your appointment is a time for to solely focus on you, and you only. To ensure your garment fits perfectly and that you feel amazing, that intimate time with you and our team is important to us.
  • What is Bespoke Clothing?
Great question! We are going to be blunt, we find the term at times confusing, misused, and overused. Bespoke simply means that the garment was created just for you, every time. Until your order is confirmed we don’t even cut the fabric. In summary, every one of our custom garments are handcrafted for one special person, and that would be YOU. The word comes from the verb 'bespeak,' which means to speak for something, or to order something to be made. In fashion, this refers to the process of having a single garment or an entire outfit specially made for one person. Bespoke clothes are individually crafted from a pattern made from scratch for the unique customer. Unlike ready-to-wear outfits, bespoke clothing isn't available in standardised sizes. It is completely unique. And that's what makes it special.
  • Do you have an online catalog where I can see the fabrics or examples of your work?
We get and use a variety of fabric books that are sent at the start of each season so that we stay current. Unfortunately, our exclusive fabrics are not provided in a digital format. Because of this, we do not have an online catalog to view fabric selections. If you are ever near our showroom, please feel free to book a private appointment, where you can see and feel all of our fabrics.
  • Do you duplicate/recreate designs?
No. We don't even recreate/duplicate our own designs. We do encourage you to bring photos of inspiration to point us in the direction that you would like us to navigate.
  • What is your design process time frame for certain garments?
Suits, Sport Coats, Overcoats, Trenchcoats, and like garments: 4-6 weeks. Formal Evening Dresses: We encourage 3-6 months in advance. Formal gowns: We encourage 6-8 months in advance before the event. *Rush fees apply for expedited garments.*
